I'm soliciting advice from someone with more mechanical knowledge than I have.

My 20-year-old snow blower has been sitting outside with a tarp over it for about a year. When I tried it in November, it wouldn't start and I haven't touched it since. I did notice that the little rubber primer (the thing you pump 5 times before starting) isn't leaking fuel when I overpump, and that's something it used to do, so I suspect that gas isn't getting from the tank to the spark plug.

This week, I replaced the spark plug, and today I sprayed it liberally with starter fluid. Vroom! The blower started on the first pull! Five seconds later, it puttered out.

I can repeat that. I'm pretty sure at this point that there's either a clog or a leak keeping fuel from getting to the engine. What's the best way to correct this?

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
