PRINCETON, NJ -- Forty-seven percent of American adults currently report that they have a gun in their home or elsewhere on their property. This is up from 41% a year ago and is the highest Gallup has recorded since 1993, albeit marginally above the 44% and 45% highs seen during that period.

Disney Channel Edits Out Gun From 1938 Mickey Mouse Cartoon

Oh, dear...

United States --(Ammoland.com)- Almost every morning the Disney Channel runs shortened versions of their "golden oldies" between some of their modern day cartoons as a way to fill time until the next scheduled show begins.

One morning recently my kids were watching the Disney Channel when they featured an old Mickey Mouse classic called "Mickey's Parrot" which was originally released back on September 09, 1938.

In this episode, a parrot belonging to an escaped killer wanders into Mickey's basement. Mickey hears it talking and thinks that the parrot is the killer who is on the loose who he just heard about on the radio. Mickey then goes and grabs his double barreled shotgun off of the wall and prepares to defend himself.

Well, wouldn't you know it... in the version they presented on the Disney Channel the other day, they had digitally removed the shotgun and replaced it with a broom. Yes, Mickey grabbed a broom off of the gun rack, shouldered it, and prepared to defend himself with his handy, dandy tactical... broom.

Pop quiz: Name one accessory that grandmothers, moms, girls, wealthy socialites, middle-class females and low-income women might be likely to own — and cherish — all across America.

If you answered “a gun,” you’d be correct.

A black powder one. Thought I'd have some funnn with BP again!
I still have some BP. I have a Hawkins rifle in .50 caliber.
It was a kit one I put together years ago.

It's in the standered blue.

I was talking about a sound supresser. On any gun, one must pay a one time charge of $200 to BAFT.
So Erik tells me.
His prototype rifles had barrols under 16 inches.
Because of that, their classfied as machine guns by BAFT, so he said too.
As for shotguns, the barrol length must be at least 18 inches. My Stevens 350 has a 18 & 1/4 one. Just to be save.

Meeting him at around 10am Saturday at his place.
Buying a optic scope for my .223 Ket-Tel pistol and 2-30 round AR 15 mags and a pistol case.
My have him mount a sound suppresser on my 10/22?
Probably knock the sound to at least an air rifle or better. Good for shooting pestky critters of all kinds...LOL...

It's not a "machine gun" unless it has a full-auto mode. You either have an SBR (short barrelled rifle) or an AOW (any other weapon - i.e. a short barrelled shotgun or something like that). AOW's, by the way, only take a $5 stamp Cool. All of these are considered "Class 3" weapons.

You'd have to check either your dealer, but I think an SBR with a supressor (one that's not permanently mounted and the overall barrel length is still under 16") needs two stamps - one for the rifle, and one for the suppressor.

22LR isn't so loud anyhow, but suppressors are handy for them.
