I agree. But what they secretly think doesn't matter. It's what they do that counts.

Basically, as David Frum is saying, we have a system failure here. Congress is neither a check nor a balance. It's complicit. The AG's office is not independent. It's complicit.

By the way, I also respect Lindsey Graham's position, which accepts the replacement of the FBI Chief but requires his replacement to be non-partisan.

Replacing Comey with a Republican stooge like Trey Gowdy, as csl suggested, is unprincipled and corrupt. I suppose it doesn't surprise me that the GoP has become so unmoored from its principles. But it is very far from its own history at this point. Anyone can see that the FBI Director must be a non-partisan appointment.

The collusion investigation must continue. Trump's actions stink of obstruction. If he is obstructing, what is he protecting?
