I wouldn't even joke about that!!!!

Ignorance is bliss. I am afraid that most Republicans don't understand that a country like the USA can only exist because it is secular.

Unfortunately, when the only history Republicans seem to know is the second world war and star wars, then they cannot possibly appreciate this sort of thing.

In the end, I wonder if the USA has the roots to remain a liberal democracy. The folks who wrote the US Constitution were educated, elite, scientific and aware of the Enlightenment. The Trump movement is a cultural phenomenon, emerging from the swamp of ignorance and superstition.

You don't get to have both a sophisticated, secular state and Trump populism. This ends with a car crash.

In a way, that is what we are seeing. What csl calls the Deep State is the Enlightenment and its ripples.

Hi Cactus Flower, You could be right. When do the living POTUS, Carter, GHB, Clinton, GWB, & Obama unite & call a spade a spade, Trump is unfit, unqualified & a danger... I'm not holding my breath, its unrealistic. and might cause another civil war... If only 'god' would do for us what we can't do for ourselves ;)
