I think a large part of Macy's problems seem to be their BUYERS. At one time, a decade or more ago, my wife and I could go there and get clothing that was appropriate for our age and looked nice. Today? Well, if you are 22 and skinny and don't care what you look like, Macy's is the store for you. For example, women's clothing. Dresses? What are those? Not to be found in their stores unless you want to be a party girl and of course, no sleaves allowed even if you are not under 40....... They have lost touch with reality. You can tell that MILLENIALS are doing their buying. So, we simply don;t shop there anymore..... And I suspect millions more just like us whichis why Macy's is hurting. It isn't Amazon. They don't have anything in Apparel for the BIGGEST GENERATION either. ALL of the stores where one was accustomed to finding nice clothes for people to wear, JC PENNEY comes to mind here also, have stopped providing thise things. They want to cater to people 30 and under.
What kind of MORONS do they have running these companies in the past ten years??
I could help return the shoppers to these stores easily. All the things my wife and I once loved about them are now gone. Simply get back to basics. And stop buying clothing made to fit the average Chinese or other poverty starved nationalities and return to what we know as SMALL, LARGE, Medium, XL, etc. Today, if you once wore a medium, it now is either a large or extra large. Just my take on these stores problems. Younger generation forgot that the boomers still far and away outnumber them and they are the ones with the purchasing power......... MAke clothing available that WE LIKE and return to roots....
Your generation is screwed up big time.... |
