The man in the oval office is said to have had no interest in the details, or even the framework, of health care policy. Who knew it was so complicated? That's not going to work.
He's going to run into much the same problem with infrastructure: one set of Republicans is for it, the other is against it.
And if Ryan runs tax reform, it will just be a tax cut for the rich and freedom of choice for the poor (trickle down, yawn, yawn). Freedom of choice for Ryan always means that, if you are poor, the best you can hope for from the market is McDonalds quality, while at the same time you lose healthcare, roads, parks and the other things collectively called the common good. Yay!
It's all about the shape of the income curve. The two least valuable shapes are flat-line egalitarianism and the exponential curve of extreme inequality. Everything between those two extremes is an improvement.
