in the spectrum of alternatives, of which there are five or six options, it doesn't seem like there's a majority for any solution. but probably, like the bell curve, the most numbers are in the political centre.

options include:

free market (aka let sick people die)

old uberimae fidei insurance model (aka let sick people go bankrupt)

freedom of choice model (aka designed to fail, of which ahca is an example)

private, three-legged stool, insurance (of which ACA is an example)

private, three-legged stool plus public insurance option

single payer (aka health rationing)

personally, i think they should be tweaking obamacare to push back against cost increases. i just don't believe the insurers cannot make money on a system that is twice as costly as those in other countries.

that's the same mistake that they have made since the beginning.
many of us weren't happy with Obamacare, because we wanted a single payer plan. so when polls were shown, it didn't take us into account, just looked like we didn't want it at all.
