As Ryan scuttles to the right to secure the votes needed to repeal Obamacare, he loses votes towards the centre.
If he scuttles to the left, he loses votes to the right.
Turns out there are parties within parties in the GOP.
The truth is, the majority of people want affordable health insurance. If the GOP could figure ways to make Obamacare cheaper, they'd probably make everyone happy. But you need a big pool of insurees, a system that protects those who are vulnerable from financial gouging, an incentive to reduce costs, etc.
Just kicking 24m people off insurance is not a solution. It's a tax cut for the rich disguised as a healthcare act.
