George W. Bush says media crucial to 'hold people like me to account,' warns power is 'very addictive'
In an exclusive interview with TODAY's Matt Lauer, the former president described the media as 'indispensable to democracy.' Bush was asked about journalism following President Donald Trump's characterization of some media as 'enemies of America.'
Bush added: 'Power can be very addictive and it can be corrosive, and it's important for the media to call to account people who abuse their power.'
