immigration is authoritarian by nature. not really surprising the ins people are trump's strongest supporters. separating sheep from goats is their business.

there is a grand design behind trump. it's pulling up the drawbridge and isolating the DSA from its neighbours. it's making everything within the borders and imposing an apple pie and ice cream culture on the people. no more of this strange and spicy foreign contamination. civitas americanus sum.

they see brexit as the model, although the way they see brexit isn't the way i do. for them, brexit was about isolating the uk and they want to do something similar in the DS.

but britain has always been a trading nation. most brexiteers wanted their sovereignty back. but they still want to trade with the world, including with europe. it's the political direction of the european disunion which was the problem. the force in the ED favours the creation of a federal state. and this is not what the majority of british people want.

the uk also has a slightly more constructive view of foreigners than the trump administration. more about balance than absolutes. but where there is similarity is in a hushed suspicion of moslem beliefs.

Muhammad Ali Jr. detained by immigration at Florida airport

Muhammad Ali Jr., son of the late legendary boxer, was reportedly detained for several hours by immigration officials at a Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

According to a report by the Courier-Journal, Ali and his mother Khalilah Camacho-Ali were arriving at the airport from a Black History Month event in Jamaica on Feb. 7 when they were pulled aside by customs and asked if they were Muslim.

Ali's lawyer Chris Mancini told the Courier-Journal that while Camacho-Ali was let go, her son was questioned for almost two hours about his origin, where he was born and his religion.
Ali is a Muslim born in Philadelphia and holds a U.S. passport.

"To the Ali family, it's crystal clear that this is directly linked to Mr. Trump's efforts to ban Muslims from the United States," Mancini said, referring to President Donald Trump's executive order banning citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S.

The order was put on hold by a federal judge on Feb. 3.

Camacho-Ali and Ali Jr. live 20 minutes from the airport in Florida. According to the report, the family contacted a lawyer the day after the incident.
