And yet, if he is innocent, then he is brave in trying to change accepted wisdom.
Putin is a bad dude. This is something that is a serious thing and shouldn't be taken lightly.
But without suggesting moral equivalence, it is also true that the USA was doing torture and secret rendition until fairly recently. It lost its moral authority then and I don't think the American people have changed so much since. There are a lot of terrible people with utterly brutal ideas in the US.
There are, of course, in every place. Makes it hard to be righteous.
