KKK Leader's Family Charged in Murder

A Missouri Ku Klux Klan leader's wife and stepson have been charged with his murder, police said Monday.

Frank Ancona, 51, was found dead on the bank of a Belgrade, Missouri river on Saturday, after he reportedly threatened to divorce his wife.

Ancona called himself the imperial wizard of Traditional American Knights of Ku Klux Klan, a branch that drew headlines for cross-burning and allegedly plotting to murder a black man.

On Monday, police announced that he had died of a gunshot to the head.

Ancona's wife Malissa, 44, was charged on Monday with a class A felony of murder in the first degree, felony armed criminal action, a class D felony of tampering with physical evidence and a class D felony of abandonment of a corpse.

She reportedly told police that her son Paul Jinkerson, 24, had shot Ancona in his sleep. Jinkerson was charged with a class A felony of murder in the first degree, felony armed criminal action, a class D felony of tampering with physical evidence and a class D felony of abandonment of a corpse.

Before Ancona was found dead, Malissa had reportedly written a Facebook post asking for a roommate. When police asked about the post, she told them that Ancona had told her he was going on an out-of-state business trip, and that he planned to divorce her on his return. Ancona's employers told the Daily Journal Online that they had not sent him on a business trip.
