I suspect that there's a different reason. Trump (and probably every rational hotel chain) has not put a hotel into Syria, Iraq, Somalia etc because they cannot offer stability to an investor. If they did, it would be a target for terrorism.
So I would give him a pass on this putative causal link. He isn't preserving relations with countries in which the Trump brand operates.
His hotels and the administration's immigration people have coincidental reasons for being concerned by the countries on that list. They are both making decisions based on the local security situation.
