He does not directly screw the subcontractor. He uses the contractor to do the rape. Then he hides behind the fiction he is unrelated to the fraud.

Fortunately, he's dealing with a far smarter, more educated, capable, and able to fight him crowd, rather than say ok, because I'll get another job if I eat this one.
