A. He won on a minority vote with little enthusiasm passed his base, which is small, and everyone else is waiting to see if he is worth shit. Many who voted for him didn't bother, OBVIOUSLY.
B. People watched on TV a reality show, a moron who couldn't fill the shoes of anyone before him with that Mussolinesque speech he made. They watched him disgrace American ideals, and he did it again a day later at the CIA. They watched to see a clown perform.
Yes, many will watch this reality show, and we all know about reality show actors and what they're made of.
Bottom line is, we're still watching and praying he doesn't really fk us up beyond repair, here and around the world.
