re: "In the past, administrations of both parties have often granted extensions ... to remain in place for weeks or months."
That makes sense, given the hostile transition Obama has led. We could have seen this coming: When the Clintons left the White House in 2001, they trashed the place. That's low class. When Obama won the White House, he met with President Bush and persuaded him to issue extraordinary debt as part of TARP. I remember that well. It happened AFTER the election, on October 3, 2008. I don't think GWB would ever have done that if he wasn't trying to work with his successor to have a smooth transition. And what did Obama do? He didn't miss an opportunity to point out that his massive annual deficits were smaller than GWB's. In fact, he blamed everything on Bush at every opportunity. Again, low class. Bush later admitted that he regretted TARP. It had made him look like a fool.
So, eight years later, we have Obama trying to screw over Donald Trump as well. I think Trump is too smart for the man and knows what he's up to, though. This time, Obama is going down. He'll have nothing positive as his legacy... and TONS of negative... and a new President who's likely to treat Obama the way Obama treated GWB. ![]() Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months |
