Agreed. As I've said many times, if it were announced that the penalty for being caught once in the United States illegally was a year of hard labor followed by deportation, and the penalty for being caught twice was five years of hard labor followed by deportation, we would not have illegals in this country. They would leave VOLUNTARILY.
And that, I think, is the answer to our illegal alien crisis.
The last I heard, it costs us well over one hundred thousand dollars per deportation - a price that is obviously too high if we intend to deport twenty million people. Something has to change.
