Part of that is what Trump's voters hoped for. They are ousting the politicians from government. No more of the namby-pamby dithering. Employ people who can get things done. It's a takeover by the plutocrats, fuelled by the naive hopes of those voters who see themselves as the downtrodden (and others see as a wee bit naive and a lot crazy).
Given the choice between the plutocrats and the crazies, I prefer the plutocrats. Bad or worse.
But the crazies are going to be madder than a junk yard dawg when they realise how they've been stitched up.
I am already encountering people who genuinely believe government money is going to be rolling their organisation's way now that Trump is in place. I guess they think the money is going to be growing on magic Trump trees, because he plans to lower tax rates and we already know how that story ends. With less government income, higher government debt and demands to reduce government waste. The mathematics doesn't add up.
The winners are going to be the plutocrats who will end up with more money in their pockets while inequality increases. No wonder they are signing up to participate in the new show.
Nevertheless, the get-things-done people will get less done than they expect. The US constitution is likely to frustrate them in many ways, as it does everyone else who tries to change things in the USA.
