Yes. you have a point about the times people live in and we have no choice in that matter. God is the ONE who places us where we are and WHEN we are....
So I do get it, except that Ben Franklin who was older than all of the other famous early founders was opposed to the idea and practice of slavery, along with Dr. Benjamin Rush and John Adams. It was a southern thing that was used for those large plantations and farms.
And as you so aptly point out, even today, the African continent still endures slavery in various forms, and it is still a vile and wicked thing. Noth8ing has changed about that.
