After someone on Trump's staff passed a message to the Taiwanese president that Trump would take the call. Besides, it was all a pretense to talk about a potential deal for Trump to open a luxury golf resort, so I'm sure from Trump's point of view there was NOTHING for the Chinese to get upset about since it was strictly a 'business call', but then I suspect that Trump will be consistently putting family business ahead of national business.
