Seems to me we ought withhold judgement until details are available. In my world the objective would be for all enterprises to play by the same very limited rules. All politicians, regardless of party affiliation, tend to provide sweetheart deals to larger corporations where they can trumpet themselves.

No pun intended; but it may apply.

Carrier encouraged to stay in the US using inducements.

Tax payers pay for those inducements.

Costs end up being borne by everyone, including non-Carrier employees.

Cost of goods increase invisibly.

Ends up generating wage pressures.

Whereas a dynamic, trading economy finds comparative advantages with neighbouring countries, as a result of which both win.

Now any sensible enterprise will demand similar incentives to stay, generating broad inefficiencies.
