So did Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch seem non-partisan, dispassionate, rational and trustworthy stewards of the law?

Sessions article

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/11/18/10-things-to-know-about-sen-jeff-sessions-donald-trumps-pick-for-attorney-general/

I don't like Sessions' views so much.

But ...

Saying you are cautious about the pace of immigration doesn't make you a racist. Looking for value-added immigrants doesn't make you a racist. The identity politics hits are unimpressive to me because they don't paint a complete picture of his views. Such and such happened in 1983 isn't a portrait. It's a brushstroke.

To my mind, the biggest problem is that he is an extremely partisan politician and an AG ought to seem more dispassionate. He must be seen to be a rational and trustworthy steward of the law. I don't think Sessions can be, given his beliefs.
