Frum has interesting things to say about the failure of institutions and institutional barriers of which Trump has taken advantage. The FBI is but the latest failure.
He goes on to say that the only protection from Trump is if both sides seek to build them up again, so that people believe they can rely upon the governmental structures many currently doubt.
Honestly, I think the Republicans have been razing the building. Starting with Reagan's observations that "government is the problem." And continuing all the way until the unconstitutional refusal to process the most recent Supreme Court nominee.
But that is the past. How is the US to put Humpty Dumpty together again?
Until that job is done, I am afraid the "great" is getting hard to see.
