Snow Forecast Updated As Storm Heads Toward Somers

Parts of the Hudson Valley could see up to six inches of snow from a storm system that will be arriving in the arriving Thursday morning.

The latest forecast from the National Weather Service calls for a chance of snow between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. for Putnam and Dutchess counties on Thursday followed by rain as the temperature climbs to a high in the mid 40s.

The system should be all rain in Westchester and Rockland counties while Putnam and Dutchess could see an inch of accumulation before the changeover.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for Western Ulster and Western Greene counties, where three to six inches inches is possible.

Up to an inch of rain is expected during the day, with heavy downpours possible.

Temperatures should climb to around 50 overnight Thursday into Friday with the outlook for Friday calling for partly sunny skies and the high temperature in the low 50s.
