Chairing committees is valuable in shaping anything that goes to reconcilliation (which blocks the fillibuster).

In that sense the Seante is a big deal. And it firms up getting people onto the SCOTUS. The dems can get an appointee thru committee, and GOPer can block em in committee, as is the case, now.

I do CF. NV is D now. Pa looks the best to turn. Bayh looks good. Wisc & Illl will turn. That's 4 new. NH & NC are doable. But it really doesn't mean a whole bunch even if Schumer becomes majority leader as McConnell will fillibuster like crazy as he did early in Obama's 1st term. So they hold NV (I doubt it) and add 4, that's 50/50. NH or NC swing makes the dif. Either way stuffs gotta get through the house (good luck) first, then a Senate fillibuster. Legistative gridlock.
