This probably means he is abandoning the only thing which gave him a shot: the teleprompter. It was use of the teleprompter with lines written by others that saw him rising in the polls.
The more Trump is unshackled, the more he is exposed for who he is, the worse he will do. My guess is his numbers will be headed down into the 30s.
