Doctors should be paid for results and performance, not because of their title. Same thing for hospitals. This is America, a meritocracy.
I had a cracked tooth that had put a crown on it, by my dentist, in hopes of holding it together and not letting the nerve get aggravated. Well, after 10 months, it did. The endodontist charged me $1550 on the spot for a 2 1/2 work that was excellent. She made the smallest hole in the crown and took out three miniscule roots, the last one at the deep bottom of the tooth. Three days later I went back to my denstist who closed the whole, repaired the enamel, and you could never tell this crown was ever touched.
Lots of money, but worth it!
