While a judge had ordered his release due to the preponderance of new evidence showing his innocence he could not vacate his conviction. Only a new trail or a pardon from the governor can do that, so until then he's stuck with a felony conviction on his record which limits the type of jobs he can hold and it also prevents him from voting.
