fact checking by politico:

shows kaine's trump quotes were mostly accurate, as pretty much everyone already knew.

only shortcoming - trump has flip-flopped on nearly everything he has said, so it's kinda difficult to make a statement that encompasses his position. clearly he just says whatever comes to mind in that instant with whoever he's talking to.

the dem strategy seems to be that they want to tie him to his extremism rather than peg him as a serial flip-flopper, which would water down his nastiness some.

for myself, i think he's clueless and knee-jerk reactive which is why he'd make a hopeless president. although he'd scare the bejeezus out of friend and foe alike. he may even outcrazy kim jong-un.

one possibly deliberate success for kaine. he made the debate a debacle. hardly anyone is going to remember much about it other than it was an annoying waste of time. and that means there's nothing but clinton versus trump in play. the dems clearly feel confident that they win that conversation hands-down.

so the opportunity to rally unhappy conservatives was lost.

i don't really like this sort of tactic. but it achieved its goal.
