And if you think you’ve already got it, you don’t have it.” Clinton, by contrast, showed rigorous discipline. “I think Hillary knocked it out of the park at the end,” he said. “She did a little facial thing” when Trump attacked her temperament. “I’m sure she practiced it. She was real good at being patient, waiting her turn, not interrupting. At the end of our conversation, I asked Baste what he would do now. “I think I’m going to cry,” he said. “I honestly wish we had another option or two.” Then he got serious. “I’m pretty sure that, as much as I’m going to be holding my nose, I’m going to be voting for Hillary at this point,” he told me. “You need somebody running the country who knows what they’re doing.”
