...cops was there investigating something totally unrelated to keith. For some reason he decided to get out of his vehicle with a gun. Cops today have specific guidelines as to when and when they cannot shoot and they are not required to let the perp shoot first.

Yes, I've been wondering that. If this guy was picking up his kids from school, why then did the cops show up in two unmarked police cars and then jump out and surround his pick-up? What probable cause did they have to even want to ask him questions? Or was this another one of those "suspicious black guy in our neighborhood" type 911 calls?
