Note that Tulsa has a particularity poor history when it comes to race relations. For example, in 1921, over the course of two days, more than 300 people were killed when whites attacked and burned, including dropping incendiary 'bombs' from aircraft, an all black, but very preposterous, Tulsa neighborhood and business district, all because it was reported, but never proven, that a young black man had assaulted a white women. The State of Oklahoma and the City of Tulsa for years refused to disclose details of the riot, basically covering-up the story of what happened, even going so far as to burying most of the dead blacks in an unmarked mass grave. Officially, only a small number of deaths were ever reported to the public.
