Perhaps, but Trump has already stated that if elected, he'll treat our national debt the same way he treated business debts. Of course, he's convinced himself that if the US defaults on its debts that the only people getting hurt will be the Chinese. He doesn't understand that millions of average Americans also own part of the nation's debt be it in the form of savings bonds, pension investments, Social Security assets, etc.
