When Hillary was 16 years old, meaning that she wasn't going to be able to register to vote for another 5 years, she belonged to the 'Young Republicans' club in high school. However, in 1968, by the time she actually was old enough to vote, she was a registered Democrat.

So technically, as far as the registrar of voters was concerned, Hillary was never a 'Republican'.

...changing sides depending on which way the wind is blowing is a democrat tradition. For example, Hillary used to be a republican.
