You're spot on about the beautiful farmlands up the Taconic. That's one of the prettiest hwy. I travel it often. Mostly south from Putnam Cty to WP.

But when Autumn comes there's nothing as colorful as a ride up north!

Correct, that's why Westchester lags behind by a lot.

Besides, the farm county and the towns in Duchess are way beyond anything south of it. Not even close. The Taconic parkway north of 84 alone is enough of a view to forget where you've been before.

Ever been to Copake lake, Millerton and Amenia area?
