Sorry, but there is no law against lying, except under oath like in a trial or when giving evidence against another person or where a misrepresentation could give you an unfair or inappropriate advantage, such as lying on a job application or when applying for a bank loan. However, except in the cases mentioned there is NO criminal penalty for lying. Now if your words can be shown to harm someone financially or socially, you may be subject to a monetary penalty, but they can't arrest you for saying something untrue. And if you're a public figure, such as a candidate for public office, then the person speaking or writing is protected under the right to express their political views.
BTW, just to be sure, Rupert Murdoch several years ago got a judge to rule that it's not illegal for a news reporter to say something on the air that they know to be false. And he used the 1st Amendment when he made his argument in court and the judge agreed with him that 'Freedom of Speech' does NOT automatically require that any statement be true.
