...there was no national guard when the amendment was written. All ten amendments in the bill of rights guarantee citizens rights and limit the powers of government. The second is no different.

...ambrose bierce's The Devils Dictionary defines Lawyer as: One who is skilled in circumventing the law.

What lunatic needs heavy assault weaponry at home?
...all of em apparently. If we could figure out a way to limit certain weapons without allowing the entire anti gun nut camel into the tent I would be willing to listen.

Only NRA lobbyists and NRA employees and the merchants of death at the arms manufacturers.

...more people die from high cholesterol than guns. Go after the merchants of death at your local fried chicken eatery.

Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Any half-assed Constitutional lawyer, like me will tell you that the Second Amendment was not carried down Mt. Sinai by Moses with the Ten Commandments or spoken by Jesus at the Sermon on the Mount, and the Koran and the Book of Mormon are likewise silent on the subject.

This is because, doubtless, the Amendment is not holy writ.

I was in a "well-regulated militia". It is called the "National Guard"

I did not carry my rifles or pistols or grenade launchers or bazookas home with me, although it would have been a toot if I could have, but forty five years ago I know the United States Government kept all the weapons of war locked up tightly and securely in buildings called armories. What lunatic needs heavy assault weaponry at home?

Only NRA lobbyists and NRA employees and the merchants of death at the arms manufacturers.

It's 2016. Davey Crocket is dead.
Time to shove all your guns up your ass.
Welcome to the real world.

Let's declare a fire arm truce in America.
