It's the media's fault that Trump isn't winning.

They shouldn't report that he encouraged the assassination of Clinton. Or that he says she and Obama started ISIS. Or that he implied nasty things about Megyn Kelly. Or that he denigrated Mrs Khan. And John McCain. Or that he mimicked a person's disability...

None of these things should be reported. What matters is that Trump says he will make America great again. Because it really matters that he makes claims and it doesn't matter that they lack substance.

The people who say they care about the federal debt should also ignore the fact that Trump's policy announcements, such as they are, imply massive debt increases and massive tax benefits for the wealthy. Okay, we notice they don't care so much about Republican-created debt, but we should all ignore that too.

What matters is Trump's redrawing of reality. And his characterising of the nasty media revealing the true awfulness of his character.

Heck, with all this truthfulness, Trump may end up 20% down. And that would have nothing to do with his candidacy and everything to do with the messenger. As Trump likes to say: "shoot the messenger". And your opponent. And everyone else that is in his way.

Has there ever been a worse candidate? In my experience, only Sarah Palin comes close but she was going for Veep.
