I remember a camping trip I once took . . .
I forgot the can opener.
I had embarked on 'plan b'. Which involved eating
things that did not require a can opener. Some
couple wandered by, saying hello, and I told them
I'd forgotten my can opener. They went back to their
camp and returned with a can opener.
I think I hurt their feelings when I didn't 'borrow'
it and immediately open a can of something.
(I was already eating something and I had told them
not to bother.)
By the way, remember the 'P38' can opener from the
C rations? They do make a larger, civilian grade
version available in most camping and hunting supply
stores.
