...the reason I am not in the NRA is that they are always grubbing for more and more money from the members. When I was in they would send me stuff I didn't order along with an envoice. LaPierre or whatever the F his name is reminds me of Jim Baker or Jim Swaggart. They would sell their souls to the gun and ammo mfgrs if they could, but nobody is buying.
...btw: the 2d amendment is not about hunting or target shooting.

My father was a life member, but near the end, he soured on their political points of view and right-wing activism. He joined originally because they supported hunting, sports shooting and training young people in gun safety. However, when they started to promote the self-defense, anti-establishment rhetoric, he parted ways. He also abhorred the idea that the NRA had sold its soul to corporate interests, i.e. gun and ammo manufactures at the expense of the average hunter and target shooter.
