...I liked the first years ALONE better than this years. It seems to be a bit disjointed somehow. Jose either isn't making much video or he's not doing anything worth showing.

...on one episode of naked and afraid this old gal was dyin (or so it appeared) from dehydration and starvation and an assortment of other ills. They came and picked her up in a golf cart. How far off the beaten path could she have been???

...mz ribit has been watching ALONE with me and has turned down my offer to take her camping on Vancouver Island for our anniversary.

...rain, cold weather, nothing to eat except crap that if it was on my shoe I would throw away the shoe. As little as a single shot .22 rifle would make a helluva difference in that situation.

I'm watching and recording Alone Episode #8 right now.

One thing I don't like about Alone is that after a few days, it's just a waiting game. The guys don't do all that much... or what they do is more of what they were doing in the last episode. I can understand it, but it doesn't make for the most exciting television.

They're up to day 21 now, which is how many days are covered in a SINGLE episode of Naked & Afraid. So, in a sense, it's taken eight episodes of Alone to do what they do in one episode of N&A.

I'm exaggerating a little, of course. There are more people in Alone so they do more things. But they've mostly settled in and aren't too active anymore. The most interesting parts of these 'stranded in the wilderness' shows is usually what they do at the start: Getting shelter, fire, water and food. Dealing with the animals. Then it's a waiting game unless something bad happens.

*yawn* And they sure are packing in the ads.

I think I'd like the show more if the contestants were still, at this point, working aggressively to improve their situation. I suppose that when you're weak and isolated, it's hard to stay motivated. That's probably why these guys are rapidly dropping out.
