This site, The Lost Ways, is pretty interesting even though it's an ad for some survivalist books. One quote from the video at the link resonates:
"The SHTF event we all prep for is what folks back then called 'daily life.'"
The statement isn't entirely true. Under almost any circumstances, those who prepare will be better off than those who lived 150 years ago. We'll have stockpiled technology. We'll have libraries. We won't have wild animals and injuns trying to kill us.
It's still a good quote.
