Speaking of water...

I've got an interesting problem up north. While my land has streams, they're BELOW where I'll be building and planting crops. So, if I lose electricity, my well will go out and I'll have a tough time getting water to the crops.

I should think about installing water tanks at the top of the field. I wonder what that will cost.

Luckily, New Hampshire gets a lot of rainfall - typically several storms every week. My crops will probably be okay most years. As for the house, I'll need to get at least one old-fashioned hand pump. I've seen them on the internet. They aren't too expensive.

Endless issues...
