or you could just go to a welding shop that sells welding equipment and ask if they could help or give some lessons.....

In the wild, learn how to BRAZE, using a torch and some brazing wire, then try yer luck at Heli-Arc (stick) welding, and MIG welding. Mig welding is a wire feeding through a welding gun with inert gas as a shield.

As Zim noted, there are settings on the welding machines and they are dependent upon the thickness and types of materials you are joining together. One size does not fit all.

NO, I do not like to... I paid people to do that.

First,
You gotta know what settings to set the machine at.
Second, you need to have one of those welding helmets
with the heavily tinted eye glass so's you don't fry
your eyeballs.
