ribit:

I do have a half dozen of those traps, in three different sizes. When I lived in CA, I used them to trap feral cats, catching a total of nine on a property I'd bought. I hauled them off to the local animal shelter.

A good month later, the former owners called to tell me that they'd left their beloved cat Beelzebub behind and to please be sure to feed him. I said I would, of course, but from their description I knew it was the first cat I'd gotten rid of! What sort of a person leaves his "beloved" pet behind, anyway?

Sportsmansguide also sells the inhumane kind of traps, in sizes that go all the way up to bear traps. I always figured on buying one or two but never did.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

...ya might consider gettin yerself a couple of these for medium term survival situations. Catching something ya can eat could fill the gap between the time ya run out of canned goods and the time the crops come in.
