re: "Have you looked at some of the sites on how one can raise lots of food with a small acreage? The few sites I looked at looked like they were trying

I've got nearly 20 acres cleared. That's more than I'll ever need unless I go crazy with orchards.

A few years ago, I bought the book shown below (except that mine's in better condition) at a garage sale. It was part of an early '70s PBS show and outlines exactly what I'm going to do over the first couple of years, all in a 100' x 100' space. I might as well start small and see what works, right? The book was written, and the television show was produced, out of Boston. The plants and techniques the book recommends should work fine for me since I'm less than a hundred miles away. The seasons, pests and weather should be very similar to what they had when they wrote it.

The neat thing is that this book doesn't just say what to do, it also says when to do them, week by week. It's perfect for a big New England garden.

De,
Have you looked at some of the sites on how one can
raise lots of food with a small acreage?

The few sites I looked at looked like they were trying
to sell me a book . . . .
