I am also advised that bears will avoid ya if possible and for that reason ya should wear some little bells that make noise so they will hear ya coming. Other folks advise that carrying pepper spray is a good idea.
Ya can also tell what kind of bears are about by examining their poop. Black bears will have leaves and berrie seeds in in and will smell veggie in nature. Grizzly bears will have little bells in it and will smell like pepper spray.
Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!

When I was a kid, I remember reading that brown bears and black bears were the same thing. So I told my son this and he challenged me on it. It turns out that black bears, even when they are brown, are one species, and brown bears and GRIZZLIES are the same thing.
Except when they aren't. It's all very confusing. Probably because of this, which I just looked up:
"All grizzly bears (Ursus arctos horribilis) are a subspecies of brown bears, but not all brown bears are grizzly bears."
What's the most dangerous? A Grizzly, a Polar Bear or a Kodiak? I don't know, but I think anything with "horribilis" as part of its name deserves consideration.
