ribit : Re: ”If the bear climbs the tree and eats ya it is a brown bear. If he pushes the tree over and eats ya it is a grizzly.“
When I was a kid, I remember reading that brown bears and black bears were the same thing. So I told my son this and he challenged me on it. It turns out that black bears, even when they are brown, are one species, and brown bears and GRIZZLIES are the same thing. Except when they aren't. It's all very confusing. Probably because of this, which I just looked up: "All grizzly bears (Ursus arctos horribilis) are a subspecies of brown bears, but not all brown bears are grizzly bears."
What's the most dangerous? A Grizzly, a Polar Bear or a Kodiak? I don't know, but I think anything with "horribilis" as part of its name deserves consideration.
Nice photo, by the way. I think it's time to give the guy a little morphine. Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months |
