GREENBELT, Md. (ABC7) — A Waldorf man and delegate for Donald Trump was indicted for child pornography and illegal possession of explosives and a machine gun by a federal grand jury on Wednesday.
Caleb Andrew Bailey, 30, used a minor for the production of child pornography between March 2015 and January of this year, according to U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein. Bailey was also in possession of child pornography, according to the indictment.
Court documents say that postal police and inspectors found an open package addressed to someone in Wisconsin with explosives and ammunition at a post office in Capitol Heights. It added up to 119 rounds of .50 caliber cartridges and 200 rounds of 14.5 mm spotting projectiles with explosive charges.
The documents go on to say that Bailey called the post office inquiring about the package. Neither he nor the recipient of the package had a federal license to transport explosives.
Police later obtained federal search warrants and searched Bailey's home where they found an illegal machine gun.
Bailey faces charges of production and attempted production of child pornography, possessing child pornography, unlawful transport of explosives by a non-licensee and illegal possession of a machine gun. His charges add up to a maximum sentence of up to 50 years in prison.
He is currently being detained and has a detention hearing scheduled for May 24 in U.S. District Court.
The Maryland Board of Election shows Bailey as a delegate for Donald Trump from the 5th Congressional District.
