With all of this fuss over who can use which bathrooms, people need to keep in mind that MORE Republican politicians have been charged with soliciting sex in public restrooms than have transgender people.
Also, that the real reason that the North Carolina law was enacted has nothing to do with bathrooms or even transgender people, that's all a smoke screen for the real issue. You see the law was written prevent cities from enacting any law that wasn't consistent with state law and while there never really was a law concerning transgenders and which bathrooms to use, there were state laws concerning minimum wages which several larger cities around the country, including ones in North Carolina and other Southern states that have been considering increasing the minimum wage in their cities. This is the real reason for these laws as they are worded in such away that they cover anything the cities would like to do as opposed to the state itself. The bathroom issue is just something to deflect the media from reporting the real intentions of the Right-wing lawmakers. You notice how when it comes to Washington and national issues, the Right is always demanding more 'states rights' and saying that things should be handled at a local level. But when it comes to cities and other municipalities trying to do things for their local people, suddenly that's a bad idea and the cities must abide by what the state says they must do.
